![]() Head Start works with families to assure that children have an ongoing and regular source of medical care (doctor) and oral health care (dentist). For any concerns identified, Head Start supports parents around referrals and follow-up with appropriate health professionals. For children, during the first 45 days of enrollment, Head Start conducts a variety of child screenings including height, weight, vision, hearing, developmental and behavioral screenings. For pregnant women enrolled in Early Head Start, the program helps to assure that women have prenatal services and education, as well as postpartum care. Head Start works with families to support children for optimal health, growth and development. Children learn through play-based activities in safe and nurturing indoor and outdoor environments, and have experiences which help them become self-confident and excited about learning. Children in Head Start socialize with others, solve problems, and work on basic language and literacy skills. Head Start supports children’s social and emotional development as the foundation for healthy relationships and school readiness. Head Start partners with parents around the education of their children, and incorporating research-based curriculum, ongoing child outcomes assessment, and periodic family reports regarding children’s progress. Head Start provides an educational program comprised of learning experiences to foster children’s intellectual, physical, social, and emotional growth. ![]() ![]() Facilitate family's access to community resources and supports such as other agencies and services.Head Start services for children promote school readiness, and include early education, health, nutrition, mental health, and services for children with learning and developmental disabilities. Develop transition plans collaboratively with EHS multidisciplinary team.Attend all necessary program meetings and trainings.Ensure additional assessments, advocacy, case management, referral, and support services to families. Collaborate with the site team to design and implement strategies that support compliance with the Early Head Start Performance Standards.Maintain complete case records and enter data in required data systems.Work with families to create Individualized Family Partnership Agreements (IFPA).Complete child development assessments every 4-6 months and develop appropriate child goals with family.Lead infant/toddler, parent, and other group socialization activities 2 times per month.Promote optimal development of enrolled children across the five child developmental domains using the Partners for Healthy Baby Curriculum Plan and implement educational experiences for expectant women.Plan and facilitate purposeful and meaningful home visits.Visiting families in their homes weekly and establishing working relationships.Implement FF/EHS’s Infant Mental Health approach to partnering with families.The home visitor will partner with parents to design and implement age-appropriate experiences for the child and support the educational experiences for expectant mothers. To be successful in this role, we are looking for people who believe in a strengths-based approach and use positive practices to help guide their everyday activities. As a Home Visitor, you will form relationships with families and their children ages 0-3. Services are provided in the home, office, and various community settings. Home Visitors for the Early Head Start Program play a critical role promoting early childhood education and building secure attachments between the infant/toddler and family members.
